I.What we collect

Newsletter signups

When you subscribe via the form on playdueling.com, we collect your email address. That's it — no name, no IP geolocation, no profiling. The email is stored by our newsletter provider, Buttondown, who handle delivery and storage on our behalf.

Website analytics

None. The site uses no analytics, no tracking pixels, no cookies. If that ever changes, this page will be updated and the change announced via the newsletter.

II.What we don't collect

• We don't sell or share your email with anyone.
• We don't run ad tracking, Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, or third-party trackers on the site.
• We don't profile you or build a marketing profile.
• We don't use your email for anything other than the newsletter you signed up for.

III.How we use your email

• Sending the Dueling newsletter — build updates, devlog, eventually launch announcements.
• Sending the double-opt-in confirmation email when you subscribe.
• Responding if you reply directly to a newsletter or email us.

IV.Where your data lives

• Newsletter provider: Buttondown, US-based. Their privacy policy: buttondown.com/privacy.
• Email hosting: our domain playdueling.com is hosted on Google Workspace, US-based. Their privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
• Website: runs on our own server in Germany (Hetzner). The site serves no cookies and stores no visitor data.

V.Your rights

• Unsubscribe anytime. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link in the footer. One click.
• Request deletion. Email [email protected] and we'll remove your address from the list and confirm.
• Request your data. Email the same address. We'll send you what we have on you (which is just your email and signup date).

VI.Children

We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13 (US/COPPA) or under 16 (EU/GDPR). The newsletter isn't directed at children. If you believe a child has subscribed, email [email protected] and we'll remove the address.

VII.The game

Dueling is in development and not yet released. Once the game ships, this policy will be updated to cover in-game data collection — account info, gameplay telemetry, anti-cheat, and so on. For now, there is no game data to describe because the game is not playable. The current scope of this policy is the website and the newsletter only.

VIII.Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if anything changes. Material changes will be announced via the newsletter. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent change.
